  What is Deep Vein Thrombosis DVT, Deep Vein Thrombosis, is a condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in deep veins, usually seen in the lower legs or thigh areas. These clots can cause leg swelling or pain, they can also sometimes occur with no symptoms. Blood clots can become very serious if they break free, move through your bloodstream, and get stuck in other organs, cutting the blood flow to your lungs. DVT can occur  if you have certain medical ailments that influence how your blood clots. Sitting for a long time or not making much activity can lead to blood clots in a particular area.
